Accessibility Statement

EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2026

Appendix is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance status

Appendix aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our accessibility target. WCAG 2.1 Level AA defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It is the de facto standard for web accessibility in the United States.

This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to identify and remediate any remaining gaps.

Measures Appendix takes to support accessibility

  • Accessibility is included as a requirement in our internal review process for every release.
  • The application is built with semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks (a single <main> landmark per page, a "Skip to main content" link, and an accessible heading hierarchy).
  • Form inputs are labeled (programmatically associated <label> or aria-label).
  • Color contrast is selected to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios on body text and interactive elements.
  • The site is keyboard navigable; focus indicators are preserved.
  • Images intended to convey information have descriptive alt text.

Technologies used

Accessibility of the site relies on the following technologies: HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript. These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts, some content on the site may not be fully accessible:

  • Third-party authentication and payment flows (Clerk, Stripe) are rendered by those providers and have their own accessibility commitments. We monitor their updates and report issues we discover to those vendors.
  • Prescribing UI elements supplied by Photon Health on clinician-facing pages are rendered as third-party web components and may have accessibility characteristics we do not directly control.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on the site, please contact us using the methods below and we will work to address it.

Feedback and contact

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of Appendix. Please let us know if you encounter accessibility barriers:

  • By email: hello@appendix.com — please include "Accessibility" in the subject line.

  • By mail:

Appendix, Inc. 1800 JFK Blvd Ste 300-91200 Philadelphia, PA 19103

Formal complaints

We aim to address accessibility issues directly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice — Civil Rights Division, the U.S. Access Board, or the equivalent regulator in your state or country.

Assessment approach

Appendix assesses the accessibility of the site through a combination of:

  • Internal automated checks against the rendered DOM (axe-core-style rule set, run as part of QA).
  • Manual review against WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria during release review.
  • Feedback from users.
